Opportunities to learn with TIMESTEP:

Two college students sitting at a table looking at a laptop connected to wires and a Raspberry Pi device. A female graduate student is standing, leaning over them, smiling and looking at their work.

TIMESTEP Research Apprenticeship

The TIMESTEP Research Apprenticeship Program is an academic year program that offers astronomy and physics majors a paid opportunity to get started in research. Through weekly workshops and skills-building projects overseen by a faculty or postdoc advisor, the program teaches the necessary computing and hardware skills for students to land competitive positions. Skills learned are transferable to both research and industry. ASTR 276 is a corequisite for all participants.

Applications will be solicited in April for the following academic year.
